Meet our Board of Directors
This is our all-volunteer, all-female Board of Directors! Working tirelessly to create, promote, and organize our first hybrid homeschool program for the Blue Water area - the learning never stops! Huron Academic Endeavors exists because of them! Read about them below, and always feel free to reach out!
Jamie McHale
Program Administrator
Jamie's first passion is being a mom to her six children. She has two adult children that have successfully launched into the world, while she continues to homeschool her younger four children. Jamie has 18 years of experience with homeschooling.

She holds her Masters in Social Work LLMSW from Spring Arbor University. She enjoys providing mental health care as a Child Therapist, specializing in Trauma and Grief work. Jamie especially is passionate about providing trauma play therapy through her private practice, Meliora Therapy Center.

Kelly Oldford
Operations Director
Kelly Oldford is an attorney and property manager by trade and a momma by heart.
​
Raising her three children with her husband in St. Clair, Kelly started hosting Prek Kids Klubs in her backyard and started regularly teaching her daughter at home from two years old. Her passion for education has blossomed into Huron Academic Endeavors.
​
Kelly enjoys spending time outdoors, reading and traveling.

Susan Jex
Community Development and Fundraising Director
Susan Jex is a recently-retired, early elementary public school teacher of 27 years. She is grateful for the opportunity to experience this fresh approach to family education as HAE’s Early Education Director.
When Susan is not working for HAE, she enjoys crocheting, going “up north,” and soaking up as much family time as she can!

Liz Vasseur
Activities Outreach Director
Liz has experienced homeschool, private and public education throughout her learning journey.
She holds a Masters Degree in Leadership and Management from Liberty University and a Bachelor Degree of Sociology from the University of North Florida. She is a U.S. Army Veteran and has served several years within the U.S. Intelligence Community and the non-profit sector.
She enjoys spending time with her family, church community, the beach and traveling. She proudly supports her spouse Jeff, currently serving in the US Coast Guard. Together they have one daughter, Evelyn, and two dogs Tangle and Dixie.

Victoria Turnbell
Marketing Director
Victoria, or Miss V, is loved by HAE's youngest students. She started her journey with HAE as our nature school leader for preschool students.
​
Victoria is an education major at Central Michigan University and is currently doing her student teaching at Capac Community Schools.
​
When she is outside the classroom, Victoria enjoys hiking, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Krystle Dennison
Treasurer
Krystle is a CPA, with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Central Michigan University. She currently works for Ravian, the Detroit-based electric truck company.
​
She has a passion for nonprofits and seeing young people succeed. She has worked with several organizations, bringing financial responsibility and awareness to the youth of the Metro Detroit area!
​
She lives in Troy, Michigan, with her husband, their son and new baby girl! When she's not crunching numbers, she enjoys spending time with her family, pedicures and going up north.
